International Cooperation & Development (DG DEVCO)
DG DEVCO is responsible for designing European international cooperation and development policy and delivering aid throughout the world.
This programme is carried out with the ultimate aim of:
- reducing poverty in the world;
- ensuring sustainable development;
- promoting democracy, peace and security.
As well as designing policies to achieve these objectives, DG DEVCO is responsible for implementing the EU’s external aid instruments. It coordinates the actions of the EU institutions, Member States, and other EU actors around the Union's core values, objectives and common priorities.
Funding is open to organisations in the EU Member States, usually with the requirement of partnering with a local organisation in the country targeted by the action. Eligible organisations must be legal persons and non-profit-making. Individual calls should be consulted for specific eligibility criteria.
